So the weather yesterday was a scorching summer's day, and it's been a pretty good summer so far as in, 1 out of the 3 months has been just cool "spring" kind of weather, with some rain, clouds and not much heat, but since we're in the middle of summer already, I guess the heat's just starting.

Ways to cool down? Cold noodles, Korean style, with egg, nashi pear, pickled radish and a cooling beef broth. This was at Strathfield and probably almost every restaurant there will have this dish.

Noggi's frozen yoghurt~ also at Strathfield.

My mini biscotti yoghurt with pomegranate, blueberries and passionfruit. My brother ordered a pomo yoghurt, but I can't tell the difference between the two flavors. You do get a lot more for value when ordering it in a cone, but you don't get to choose toppings.

Strathfield korean supermarket. Ceylon lemon tea~ tastes like any other lemon tea, but when you're dying of thirst in the heat, you'd thank this can.

Guess where! The new Ben&Jerry is OPEN at Chatswood. If you haven't been to Chatswood ever since they renovated the library and station, it's become such a nice modern place to visit.

Helps that there's a Ben&Jerry now too. My choc mint cone.

Another new place that cropped up, next to Bathurst Street's TomnToms cafe. Main branch is still at Strathfield, the stationery cafe called My Sweet Memory. It recently opened up in city and it's already quite popular.
Apparently they are well known for the green tea latte (which they ran out of when we visited, how is that even possible) and their cheesecake (which we failed to try because we were already full). Shall have to visit it again for those two things. So many people were ordering the cheesecake that I was eyeing them on the tables and wondering if I can squeeze in a slice...

Keep cool this summer >< My number 1 food for summer is actually hiyashi chuka, but haven't had a chance to have one this summer just yet.... looks like I'll be paying Menya a visit sometime soon~

I walked past ben and jerrys when I went to Shanghai Story/ies last week. Didn't realise it was new. The shop looked pretty quiet - it was a sunny day but wasn't that warm..
It probably wasn't opened yet when you walked past? I know when I went to Shanghai Stories a couple of weeks ago, it wasn't opened and was still renovating. Now it's quite popular..
ben and jerrys!!
u have to try to fish food one.... very yummy!!!!

Jie
For Noggi and Moochi you need to add the mochi topping :)
Oh I forgot about the mochi topping ^^ always next time! :D and jie, I'll try the fish food one next time, it sounded a bit dubious so I didn't try it that time.
>It probably wasn't opened yet when you walked past?
It was definitely opened. Just only 1 person buying.. Maybe since it was just before lunch time nobody wanted to spoil their appetites
